Annotation of /chewbacca/README

How to compile with 32bit arch on 32bit machine:

1) set the PAMELA environment

2) source set_env_comp.sh

3) make distclean all install


How to compile with 32bit arch on 64bit machine:

1) set the PAMELA environment

2) source set_env_comp.sh

3) set the PAM_BIT environmental variable to "-m32"

4) enter the directory "event" 

5) mv Makefile Makefile.orig

6) mv Makefile.compile32biton64bitarch Makefile

7) edit Makefile and set the correct path for these two lines, repeated twice on lines 103/104 and 
117/118 

       /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-redhat-linux/3.4.6/32/crtbeginS.o \
       /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-redhat-linux/3.4.6/32/crtendS.o \

the correct path depends on your setup.

8) make distclean all install


How to compile with 64bit arch on 64bit machine:

1) set the PAMELA environment #### remember to use 64bit external software (ROOT, MySQL, etc.) ####

2) source set_env_comp.sh

3) set the PAM_BIT environmental variable to "-m64"

4) enter the directory "event" 

5) mv Makefile Makefile.orig

6) mv Makefile.compileon64bitarch Makefile

7) edit Makefile and set the correct path for these two lines, repeated twice on lines 103/104 and 
117/118 

       /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-redhat-linux/3.4.6/crtbeginS.o \
